Hey Adafruit,
I'm working on a project with polarized optics and was hoping to find a screen that is horizontally polarized in landscape, just for the convenience of the mounts and optics I currently have. The best way to know is if this screen goes black when looking at it landscape through polarized sunglasses, which tend to be vertically polarized.
I had purchased from Adafruit the 7" Display & Audio 1280x800 IPS, http://www.adafruit.com/products/1726
When researching, it sounded like it was using the same display from the original Nexus 7's, which apparently had this issue with going black in landscape while wearing polarized sunglasses:

However, it's clear that this display is indeed polarized 90 degrees the other way, and goes black when looked at in portrait through polarized glasses. Is there a chance these aren't the same displays from the original nexus? Do you know if any of your displays are horizontally polarized in landscape orientation?
Thanks!

Re: Horizontally Polarized IPS Display?
I'm fairly sure that detail was never even considered during the product selection process.
OTOH, an excuse to get a roomful of people in sunglasses to tilt their heads back and forth is comedy gold, so I'll ask the folks in hardware to check some screens and see what they find.
