Use MAX31855 onboard regulator to power uController

Post by StupidPig »

Hi, I have a question about using the MAX31855 breakout board. What is the power rating for the on board 3.3v regulator? I'm working on a reflow oven setup with a 5v wall power supply. The uController I'm using require 3.3v, so I'm wondering whether I can skip a separate 3.3v regulator for the uController, and using the on-board 3.3v regulator on MAX31855 breakout board to power everything? Thanks.

The 3.3v output for that breakout can deliver about 100mA. That should be enough for a microcontroller if it isn't doing anything fancy.
