DOA RF Receiver - 315MHz Momentary Type #1096
I hope this is the right place to start. I ordered this receiver a couple weeks ago and have reason to believe it arrived DOA. Once plugged into my breadboard and powered up, all of the RX pins deliver constant 5v, regardless of button presses on the remote keyfob. When I plug in a similar receiver (from a different vendor) with the exact same pin configuration, everything works as expected. Thanks in advance for your help :)

Just to nail down the details, could you post a photo of the receiver and how you have it connected please?

I am trying to do the exact same thing with LEDs but I also want to add a vibrating mini motor disc (ID# 1201). I have attached 4ea AA batteries for 6v and I have installed 10kohm resistors in-line. I get no response when the fob is depressed unlike Mannyz, where there is constant 5v.

Hey Shawn, I'm guessing they'll want to see a picture of your setup as well, so you may want to post one up. You have only the LEDs hooked up at the moment or the mini motor too?

@DgoShawn: Please start another thread for your receivers. Trying to debug two hardware problems in the same thread just invites confusion.
@mannyz: Uncurl the antenna and see if that helps. They're coiled for ease of shipping, but are meant to be straight in use.
If that doesn't do any good, post back and we'll get you a replacement.

Hey Mike, here it is with the antenna straight, same deal :( I'm gonna be placing another small order today most likely. If it's not too hard to coordinate maybe you can include the replacement in my package and save you guys some money on shipping?

That sounds good.
Send a note to [email protected] with a link to this thread and your order number, and the folks there will include the replacement receiver with your order.

Mike and Mannyz,
Come to find out, I had a bad LED. When I inserted a working LED it lit up and stayed lit, just like Mannyz's. When I pushed the fob it would turn off. I took everything apart and rebuilt it with 4ea-LEDs and resistors and it worked like it is supposed to, LEDs are de-energized until the momentary switch is pushed.
I will create a new post for the buzzer/virator issue. Thanks Mike!
