There are two resistor locations marked "Prog" for the current-level programming resistor and "Therm" for the thermistor. You would solder your resistor or thermistor there.Exactly how do the resistors connect?
Most computer USB ports do. Many USB chargers will supply 1A or more.Does the USB connection force a 1/2 amp limit?
