RFID MIFARE S50 PS2 Questions

Post by AZSoncini »

I'm about to buy the RFID MIFARE S50 RFID Reader with PS/2 Interface.

I have some questions to make:

1: Could you please provide information about current consumption while Idle and while reading a TAG?
2: I would like to know if this is a standard PS/2 device, providing the clock signal to the microcontroller.
3: The product page says that the data is sent in decimal format. So I will receive 4 number from [0-255]?
4: How many bytes the reader will send to the microcontroller? Is there an end byte? a Carriage return or a line feed to identify the End of Transmission?
5: What is the operational voltage range? 4.5V to 6.0V? Lower voltage will reduce the read range?
6: What is the expected read range for a Card Tag?
7: Do you have a datasheet for this product? There are too few information available for this product, how can I get a Full technical spec?

That's all for now.

All the information I have is on the product page. The reader is configured to appear as a standard PS/2 keyboard. The RFID data is transmitted as plain ASCII text.

Ok,

So where can I find this detailed information?
Adafruit is just a reseller of this item? Can you point me the manufacturer?
I really need to know the current consumption and power supply range.
Can you help me? Or point me to someone that could help me?

Unfortunately, our suppliers have requested that we not share their information. We have no other information on these units.
