Arduino with zd1952 IR Receiver

Post by craigcarps »

Hi There

I was curious if anyone has tried using the zd1952 IR Receiver from JayCar (http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=ZD1952) with the arduino?

I have tried using the "Using IR Receiver" tutorial (https://learn.adafruit.com/ir-sensor/using-an-ir-sensor) with the zd 1952 IR receiver and didnt have any luck?

It seems that the IR Receiver gets inconsistent messages from the IR Receiver when it decides to work, most of the time it sits there and doesnt display the IR on/off durations at all. I have used the same wiring design as displayed in the tutorial, and used the same design from the tutorial.

I've tried various IR remotes and nothing seems to show consistent results. The IR Receiver is a 3 pin, 38 Khz receiver so I figured it should work with the tutorial as its very similar to the Adafruit IR Receiver (https://www.adafruit.com/product/157).

Anyone have any luck with this sensor?

I ended up sorting this out, I suspect it might have been bad wiring.
