Need a sensor reccomendation
I'm building a project with a Raspberry Pi to control humidity in an open top terrarium and I don't know which sensor I should buy. I grow tropical carnivorous plants and they like to be kept around 90% humidity. I have the Pi switching on and off a humidifier and I want to add a sensor to the mix to have better control over humidity. The humidifier makes a fine mist that doesn't seem to condense on the walls of the terrarium. Could I go with the Adafruit HTU21D-F or would the humidity likely damage the board? Should I do something more enclosed like the AM2315?

I use an HIH-5031 in open air for my weather station. I think it's only available in SMD though. You could just solder wires to the connectors and put some shrink tube over them to protect them.

The HTU21D-F should be fine in that application. It does have a filter over the sensor, but I'd recommend shielding the board from any direct exposure to the mist.

Thanks! I'll tuck it behind something so it doesn't get misted.
