Raspberry Pi Ribbon Cable Current Rating

Post by a13k5 »

Hello,

Just wondering what the ribbon cable wires are rated at? Are they capable of delivering the full 6V 2A that the Model B+ fuse is rated at for the power input?

Are you talking about powering the B+ through the GPIO port? I think that bypasses all the power protection circuitry.

I was under the impression that there was. You're right, it looks like there is no fuse off the 5V pin.
Thanks for the help.
