PiTFT IDC Cable

Post by Bumbleb33z »

Hey Guys!

I've ordered a PiTFT touchscreen and an IDC downgrade as I have a RPi B+.

I have my RPi in a 'box' case and therefore can't put the TFT on top of the Pi itself.

So, my question is: with the IDC cable I've ordered, where do I solder the connector for the cable and can I just use that cable for the TFT to work?? Do I plug the IDC cable into the GPIO pins on the Pi?

Sorry if this seems a little confusing!!

Just plug the IDC into the GPIO pins. Which orientation of IDC cable did you get? You need what I call an "S" bend cable, where the connectors face is opposite directions from each other.

Hey!

When you say plug the cable into the GPIO pins, that's obviously on the Pi, but what and where do I solder the GPIO thing on the TFT?

I've ordered the non-assembled kit.

Thanks! :-)
