I am having an issue with my Raspberry Pi I just got. If I shutdown or just power it off it will take two or three times to get ti to restart. Sometimes it gives me an error about not being able to mount the drive but many times I just get the multi color screen. If I power cycle it enough times it eventually does boot but that isn't right is it?
I have disconnected the breadboard, reseated the USB card, everything and it just won't boot consistently. In between boots I don't do anything, just power cycle it, and eventually it will boot.
Do I have a defective board?

how are you shutting down? are you doing a clean restart or just unplugging the power?
