Win7 but does not see the UNO. Unknown device shown in list of devices.
Install Wizard did not launch.
I tried another USB cable with same results and pressed the Reset
fail out of the box

Try right-clicking on the 'unknown device' in Device Manager. Select 'Update Driver'.
That should bring up the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the same instructions as for the "Found New Hardware Wizard" to install the Windows Driver

And can you select it as a COM port in the IDE?
