Raspberry Pi and Display Battery

Postby firefly_goat » Mon Feb 11, 2013 5:12 pm

Hello there. I'm on my way to buy some components to my new project and I'm wondering if you could run a small display ( around 2.8" ) and a Raspberry Pi out of a battery? In that case what display and what battery ? I rather have something small cause all this is going in a compact place. I may also have to press in a little Arduino chip thingy. One of them small black things you have on your Arduino.
Thank you for your help in advanced,

The Raspberry Pi needs a good amount of power, and a display will add to that load. I'd figure on around 1A at 5v. One of these should keep it going for several hours. https://www.adafruit.com/products/962

Thank you very much. Thou is pretty big, but I'll make compromise.

Also this may be out of topic but how can I make the D-Pad and buttons work from a Game Boy ( 1989 ) on a Raspberry Pi with emulator running ?

Not familiar with the Game-Boy controls myself, but if you post that question over in "General Project Help", somebody might have a good answer for you.
