Price display on 16x2 lcd

by iminafrica on Wed Jun 12, 2013 3:08 pm

I'm a real newb, and have a catch 22 situation. I want to purchase from adafruit, but I don't know what to purchase.

My project is to display price on a lcd. The price can change at any given time, and we need to push the price to the lcd screen (via whatever will drive it). There will be multiple screen.

My first thought was I need to get the uno+lcd on my ip network, but apparently that's not a great idea. Maybe xbee? I have no idea how this will communicate.

If you can shed some light on what hardware I need to achieve this it will be great.

Thanks in advance for any help and guidance.

A USB/serial backpack might be the simplest way: http://www.adafruit.com/products/782
